DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS I FULL-TIME
Requirements:
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field. You must have a strong interest in sports media and relations. Skills in developing and managing sponsor relationships, content strategy, graphic design, and soft communication skills are a must.
At least two years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry is preferred.
Description:
As the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, you are responsible for upholding professional community relationships within the Chippewa Valley. You will communicate the Chippewa Steel Hockey brand to audiences across social media and website platforms.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage sponsorship proposals and packages.
- Craft and promote creative content across the web and social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X.
- Attend all organization community outreach events.
- Collaborate with the Director of Game Day Operations to ensure sponsorship and fan needs are met during games and events.
- Interact with sponsors and fans at games and events.
- Lead a team of interns and allow them the opportunity to learn and grow within the industry.
- Submit a weekly report that includes updated sponsorship, social media, and fan attendance metrics.
DIRECTOR OF GAME DAY OPERATIONS I SEASONAL
Requirements:
Applicants must have at least two years of experience in event planning or game day operations. Skills in organization, script writing, venue layout, community engagement, and leadership is a must.
You must also be able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred:
- A background in hockey game day operations.
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in event planning or a related field.
Description:
This is a seasonal part-time position from mid-August until mid-April or early May, depending on team performance. As the Director of Game Day Operations, you are expected to put in 15-20 hours a week, including home game attendance.
Your responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Craft and update game day scripts and time sheets for each home game.
- Manage intern and volunteer schedules.
- Oversee ticket, merchandise, and 50/50 sales.
- Lead venue and loft set up.
- Execute pre-game introductions.
- Conduct in-game and intermission events.
- Engage with fans and sponsors.
- Address fan behavior and complaints in an appropriate manner.
- Lead a team of interns and allow them the opportunity to learn and grow within the industry.
AVAILABLE INTERNSHIPS
SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP
Requirements:
You must be a current college student studying communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field with a strong interest in sports media and relations. Applicants must have a strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X.
A background in graphic design, Meta Business Suite, and content strategy is preferred.

This internship requires 10-20 hours a week, including game days. Scheduling will revolve around the team practice and game schedule.
As a social media communicator, you will:
- Present social media content and strategy ideas to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations each week.
- Curate content to specific audiences.
- Analyze engagement metrics.
- Produce and post in-game content.
- Capture and promote the Steel brand through various social media efforts.
- Attend organization community outreach events as needed.
GAME DAY OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP
Requirements:
You must be a current college student studying event management, sports management, marketing, or a related field with a strong interest in sports media and relations. Applicants must have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
You must also be able to lift 50 pounds.

This internship requires 10-20 hours every other week, including game days. Scheduling will revolve around the game schedule.
As a member of the Game Day Operations team, you will:
- Sell tickets, merchandise, and 50/50.
- Assist in venue, loft, and pre-game introductions set up.
- Engage with fans and sponsors to create a memorable experience.
- Partake in roles such as goal judging, penalty box management, and clock operation.
- Plan and execute in-game events with the supervision of the Director of Game Day Operations.
DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP
Requirements:
Applicants must be current college students studying journalism, broadcasting, photography/videography, or a related major.

This internship requires 10-20 hours every week, including game days. Scheduling will revolve around the team’s practice and game schedule.
As a Digital Media Production Intern, you will:
- Run the live game feed.
- Capture walk-ins, fans, and live game photos.
- Edit images for a variety of purposes.
