Chippewa Steel Announce New Head Coach Chris Ratzloff

Chippewa Falls, WI –

The Chippewa Steel are excited to welcome Chris Ratzloff as the new head coach for the 2023-24 season. Ratzloff will become the sixth Head Coach in franchise history.

Ratzloff is a Rochester, Minnesota native coming off his fourth season with the Rochester Grizzlies of the NA3HL. He led the Grizzlies to three straight Central Division titles, two straight Fraser Cup Finals, along with a Fraser Cup championship in the 2021-22 season. He was also named the NA3HL Coach of the year for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. Before his time with the Grizzlies, Ratzloff spent seven seasons with his alma mater as an assistant coach at John Marshall High School and then two seasons as an assistant coach with the Girl’s Hockey team for Rochester Lourdes.

Before his coaching career begin, Ratzloff played one season in the USHL with the Des Moines Buccaneers posting 25 points in 44 games. He then went on to play four seasons at the Division 3 level at the University of Wisconsin River Falls.
