Steel are on the Hunt for another Win Against Fairbanks
The Steel gets ready to face off against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs for the 2nd time this season. After the Steel swept the Ice Dogs in their home opening series, the Ice Dogs will host the Steel in Fairbanks. The Steel is looking to come back after two tough losses last weekend against the Kenai River Brown Bears.
The Ice Dogs are 3-6 so far on the season. Last weekend the Ice Dogs split the weekend series against the Janesville Jets. Along with taking one game from Janesville, the Ice Dogs have beat the Johnstown Tomahawks and the Minnesota Magicians. The Steel will need to keep their eye on Ice Dogs forward Jax Murray. Murray leads the team with 8 points, 4 goals, and 4 assists.
The Steel is eager to recover and bring home a win this weekend. They are now 3-7 on the young season good for the #6 spot in the Midwest division. Camden Thiesing leads the Steel with 6 points, 4 goals, and 2 assists.
Last season Fairbanks finished 1st in the Midwest Division and 3rd overall in the league. The Ice Dogs will be looking for revenge this weekend, so the Steel will need to come out strong as they try to keep their winning streak against the Ice Dogs.
On October 19th the Steel will be taking on the Aberdeen Wings at home for $2 beer night presented by Miller Lite. Fans can get their tickets online at chippewasteelhockey.com or by calling the ticket office at 715-861-2131.
