Steel Name Casey Mignone Head Coach
The Chippewa Steel have announced the hiring of Casey Mignone as Head Coach for the 21-22 Season. Mignone becomes the fourth Head Coach in the Chippewa Steel franchise history.
Mignone most recently served as the Associate Head Coach & General Manager of Hockey Operations for the St. Cloud Norsemen of the North American Hockey League for the past two seasons. He also spent one season with the Rochester Grizzlies of the NA3HL and two seasons with Division III Johnson and Wales University as an Assistant Coach.
“We had a lot of qualified candidates for our Head Coach position through this process, but Casey checked all our boxes for what we’re looking for in our Head Coach. We’re excited to have him lead our players in advancing them in their hockey careers and in life,” stated Director of Hockey Operations, Brad Stepan.
“I am beyond humbled to be selected as the next leader of the Chippewa Steel Organization. I want to thank Kelly Kasik and Brad Stepan for entrusting me with this opportunity. I also want to thank the St. Cloud Norsemen organization, Chris and Mitri Canavati, for the opportunity they provided me. I also appreciate Corey Millen, Tom Chorske, and Moe Mantha for your tutelage over the last two years. Finally, I want to thank my family and friends for all the love and support during this journey. I really look forward to this new chapter and opportunity to lead the Chippewa Steel,” stated Steel Head Coach, Casey Mignone.
The Home Opener is set for Friday, September 10th. Tickets for Opening Weekend are now on sale at chippewasteehockey.com.
